Wizkid came on stage at exactly 4:23am on December 24 during the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged concert in Victoria Island, Lagos.
‘Doctor say make Wizkid no do show in December,’ said Wizzy as he told DJ Xclusive to stop the music in order for him to speak about his health before performing his global anthem ‘Ojuelegba’.
He went on to perform his other hits including ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, ‘Caro’, ‘My Bed’, and ‘Show you the money’.
By the crowd’s wild reaction and enthusiastic singing along, it was apparent that he still has the golden touch with his fans.
He concluded his set with a short performance of his feature with Drake, ‘One Dance’.
Wizkid had announced the cancellation of his homecoming concert on December 9, following doctors orders. He was advised to cancel all his scheduled shows in December 2016 and January 2017.
‘I’ve been on the road for 2 years touring and doing what I love without a break,’ he said. ‘And now its all catching up on me.’
The Starboy homecoming concert was planned to take place at Eko Convention Centre on December 30, followed by a show at the New Afrika Shrine on January 1, 2017.
On December 22, Wizkid was awarded Artiste of the Year at the 11th Headies awards that held in Lagos.
